In the years following the war, the Margosatubig Hospital was rebuilt by Dr. Climaco Elago. His Administrative Officer and Chief Nurse, Cornelio Felisilda was drafted to run and became the municipal mayor in 1948-1955 followed by Teodoro Elago who served from 1956 to 1964. During these years life was indeed a great abundance. Land was fertile and kaingineros thrived as fishing censoros enjoyed the lure of the Dumanquillas shores that teemed with fish of various class and species. Migrants after migrants, Margosatubig became the promise and the home of those who sought for greener pasture.

Margosatubig remained isolated for many years reachable only by sea until the opening of the PADAP road in 1976 which connected the municipality to Pagadian City through the Integrated Area Development (IAD) program. It was an economic breakthrough for Margosatubig furthered by the energization program of the cooperative which harnessed more industries, trade and commercial activities. Indeed, it was a long way for Margosatubig from being a simple settlement to what it is today. After giving birth to a number of towns in Zamboanga del Sur, today it is left with an area of 11,169 hectares comprising the 17 barangays that home inhabitants of different breed and creed. Copra and fishing are its major source of income and opportunities.
